geographIT™ is accepting resumes for a GIS Technician to work on-site at our client office location in Scranton, PA.  The selected candidate must be analytical, highly motivated, and possess creative problem solving skills.   Work responsibilities include:

·         Creating and editing GIS datasets and associated metadata in an ArcSDE versioned database.

·         Designing and producing map products.

·         Assisting in the development of documented data maintenance workflows and QA/QC procedures.

The production environment is ArcGIS 9.x and enterprise geodatabase (ArcSDE).   The following are minimum requirements to be considered for this position:

·         BS/BA degree in Geography or equivalent with focus in GIS.

·         Good verbal communication and technical writing skills

·         US citizen currently residing in the US. 

Special consideration will be given to candidates who can also highlight any of the following additional experience or skills in their resumes:

·         One or two years of industry experience

·         Experience with parcel editing and maintenance

·         Experience with reading and understanding property deeds

·         Used ArcMap to build or edit spatial data sets in an ArcSDE versioned database

·         Used ArcMap to create map products

·         Used ArcCatalog metadata editing tools to create metadata
