The geographIT™ team has completed 32 GIS for Transportation (GIS-T) projects for PennDOT, the Maryland State Highway Administration, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission(DVRPC), Lehigh-Northampton County Planning Commission and other county transportation groups. These projects cover a broad spectrum of service and expertise.
Our experience is extensive and wide ranging. Since 1994, when we completed an accident mapping research and demonstration project for PennDOT, we gained considerable expertise and a well-deserved reputation. Within the past ten years, we completed thirty-two GIS-T projects for PennDOT Central Office, PennDOT District Offices, Maryland State Highway
Administration, the Delaware Valley , Tri-County Planning Commission, and county governments. Selected examples of projects highlighting the variety of our GIS-T experience include:
- Custom course material and training for PennDOT’s local government planning partners on Linear Reference Systems (LRS) and PennDOT’s LRS data.
- Numerous environmental impact studies for highway corridor alignments. Services typically include data collection and conversion, map design and production, geo-processing alignments to determine impacts on cultural and natural resources, and statistical tabulation of corridor impacts. - Comprehensive road centerline implementation services for multiple local governments that are capable of supporting cartography, geo-coding by road name alias, Master Street Address Guide reconciliation, PennDOT LRS and event mapping, vehicle routing, and service area analysis (see our Road Centerline Product)
